Awards & Initiation Banquet
Beta Alpha Psi & Accounting Society’s biannual Awards & Initiation Banquet took place at The Reef on April 30, 2015. The night was filled with engaging conversation between students and professionals, as well as inspiring speeches from our previous and incoming presidents.
After dinner, spring 2015’s president, Allen Au, presented some impressive stats about CSULB’s BAP&AS. Over the year, 110 events were held for students with over 10,500 hours put in by the chapter’s members. Membership grew to 270 members across BAP&AS, and one of the largest candidate classes was initiated into Beta Alpha Psi during in the evening. Once again, congrats to the Xi class on all of your hard work!

The VITA program was also recognized and the program coordinator, Ryan Yee, shared some of the accomplishments of his team. During the spring semester, the VITA team finished 1000 returns and gave
$645,000 back to the community in federal refunds . In addition, numerous students received scholarships and awards in recognition of their hard work and dedication throughout the semester. Congrats to all who received awards; you very much deserved it! Next, the much-anticipated raffle! Items such as golf bags, gift cards, and go-pros were donated by the Xi class and raffled off to some lucky winners. Items donated by our supporters were also raffled off, including the $500 grand prize.
Later in the evening, spring 2015’s officers passed the torch to the incoming fall officers. Although it was sad to see the organization’s officers leave after all they have accomplished for the organization, members and professionals look forward to what this new board will achieve.
Overall, the event was a wonderful celebration of the successes of both individuals and the organization as a whole. Thank you to all students, professionals, faculty, and supporters who came to celebrate together. What a great close to an amazing semester and an exciting start to a new school year!
