Sixteen brave members represented BAP&AS at the finish line of The Aquarium of the Pacific 5k Run/Walk. These members were up and ready to help before the sun rose above the Long Beach scenic skyline.
This was an exciting morning for all the athletes as the Long Beach 5k Run/Walk embarked on a new course that ran through the Aquarium. New course records were set, and our members eagerly awaited the athletes at the finish line ready to award medals. As the emotions of the participants ran high, so did the temperatures - well above 90 degrees on an early October day. Our members also assisted in distributing water and snacks to combat the heat and keep the 5k finishers hydrated and energized. Article and Photos by Yessica Gaytan |
