On Sunday, September 13, 2015, Beta Alpha Psi & Accounting Society welcomed their members to the Fall 2015 semester with their semi-annual alumni social, Big Buddy Little Buddy. Students and alumni were in for a treat that warm Sunday afternoon. At check-in, all attendees received their new Beta Alpha Psi & Accounting Society t-shirts. Shortly after our president, Yutaka “Yoshe” Yamada , introduced our supportive alumni to all our members. Directly after, students broke into their assigned Big Buddy Little Buddy groups.
Once everyone had been gathered in their corresponding group, which ranged from 6-8 people, they enjoyed practicing some fun improv presented by Darren Held, founder of Held2Gether (Improv for Life). Darren encouraged the students and alumni to be imaginative in creating stories based on the given themes. The activities were repeated again and again, with a twist after each round.
After the entertaining activities, the students looked forward to having lunch. Becker made it possible for our Beta Alpha Psi & Accounting Society members and alumni to enjoy some great traditional Mexican tacos. A special thank you to the special events committee who helped the board run this event so smoothly. It was a task itself getting 180 people fed on a hot afternoon.
Finally, members had the opportunity to network with the alumni, and ask them about the accounting profession and their successful transition from student to professional.
The event concluded as everyone gathered for an organization photo.
We appreciate the wonderful alumni who took the time to come out and make this event a success:
