High School Visit
On Friday, November 13, 2015, our BAP&AS members Yessica Gaytan, Jennifer Mora, Wei Zhu, and another accounting student from Cal State Los Angeles, Jazmine Dominguez, visited a group of accounting students at Warren High School in Downey. Our members went in representation of the accounting industry, CSULB, CSULA, the College of Business, and BAP&AS.
The goal of the visit was to provide high school seniors with an insight of the accounting industry and to share about the members' college experience thus far. Each member has encountered challenges through their college journey and these stories were great motivation for the high school students to pursue a bachelor’s degree, whether it is in accounting or a different major of their choice. The students were particularly interested in hearing about the internships and job opportunities our members had attained by being a part of BAP&AS.
This is the second consecutive semester our members visited Warren High School. We hope to continue visiting Mr. Del Rosario’s accounting elective class in hopes of encouraging students to apply to our accounting department at CSULB and become the leaders of our future.
