Meet the Firms
This Fall 2015 semester’s Meet the Firms saw the greatest number of attendees yet.
Over 300 Beta Alpha Psi & Accounting Society members attended the largest event of the semester, looking to network and recruit with firms offering a variety of professional services - assurance, advisory, and tax - as well as governmental entities. More than 150 representatives from the different firms were in attendance as well, giving a ratio of about two students for each professional. Everyone who came to the event had the opportunity to speak with as many people as they could within the span of three hours. Director of Records, Richard Cardenas, gave motivational speeches not only to the Omicron Candidate Class, but to all members from BAP&AS who participated this semester. He expressed the importance of the event being a moment for anyone to shine, but more so for everyone to help each other out whether it be reminding to fix each other’s hair or tie. Director of Accounting Society, Brian Nguyen, and Special Events Co-Chairs, Jayson Irvin and Jennifer Mora, worked together to ensure that the venue - aptly named ‘The Venue’ - was able to accommodate our growing organization and its increasing number of members. Special shout-out to the members of the Special Events committee for helping to set up before, check-in students and professionals during, and clean up after the entire event.
Lastly, thank you to all the professionals who came to Meet the Firms and provided students the opportunity to connect, discover, network, and recruit with their respective firms.
