Meet & Greet
The first week of school passes by quickly as students are introduced to new classroom environments, new ways of learning, and new people. Various new things come to light as a semester starts, but what never fails to remain despite the ever-changing semesters are the lack of empty parking spots right before your 11 a.m. class, long textbook lines filled with students who will soon realize that they will leave with empty wallets, and the successes achieved by Beta Alpha Psi & Accounting Society. In particular, it is the semi-annual Meet & Greet hosted by BAP&AS on September 3rd that serves as one of the many successful events of the semester.
The sounds of bowling balls striking the targeted pins and the clang of the air hockey pucks sliding in coveted goals dwindle as the unceasing vibrant chatter of the BAP&AS members and new students fill the room. The engaging conversations of BAP&AS members with the new students genuinely reflect their appreciation for what BAP&AS has provided them in regards to not only opportunities, but also the thriving friendships that began due to their involvement in the organization. Students are found playing pool, winning at air hockey, and scoring strikes in bowling — or landing the bowling ball in the gutter, in some cases. The excitement generated from receiving free Amazon swag, the myriad of games being played, and the buzz of the students’ conversations continued all the way till past the end of the Meet & Greet. The results of this year’s Meet & Greet positively foreshadow the upcoming events hosted by BAP&AS that are sure to be even more enjoyable and fun. |
