Mock Summer Leadership Conference
During the summer, the organization hosted the first Mock Summer Leadership Conference. The officer board organized engaging activities that would prepare students for their summer leadership conferences later in the summer.
Students arrived early on a Saturday morning ready to learn and have fun. Proper business attire and a mock case study were a few of the topics covered in the daylong event. Students also practiced proper dining etiquette and networking skills alongside their peers.
A notably favorite activity of the attendees and officers was the BAP&AS commercial. Students had five minutes to produce a short video about why an accounting student should join BAP&AS. Each video submitted demonstrated creativity and ingenuity, however there was only one winner and you can download it by clicking here.
Throughout the day, recent alumni and seasoned members graded mock summer leadership attendees in a variety of categories. Attendees were then provided with constructive criticism at the end of the day so that could see both areas that needed improvement, as well as areas in which they exceled.
As the first Mock Summer Leadership Conference came to a close, students left feeling a bit more confident for their own conferences later in the summer.
